- Arriving in England
- Heading into Wales
- Conwy Castle
- Yorkshire
- Yorkshire to the Lake District
- Crossing the border
Hi all…….we left Carlisle yesterday and drove to Edinburgh, Scotland. Again we took the back roads – always better if you’ve got the time. Lots of villages and towns including Hawick, Selkirk and Peebles on the way. Excitement as we crossed the border! Quickly visited the Edinburgh Castle – so different from Conwy Castle. Still in one piece. Edinburgh looks beautiful – but we didn’t stay long. We were tired and keen to find a bed for the night. The traffic was terrible – we ended up going the wrong way down one of the main streets. Lots of waving from a frustrated bus driver! After we got ourselves sorted we escaped to the nearby town of St Andrews – famous for its gold course. Much quieter! We found a really nice B&B just out of the town and just chilled. Left this morning and have just arrived in Inverness – biggest city near our house sit in Tomich. We are staying the night in another lovely B&B – apparently they are not technically open but they took pity on us! Beautiful setting just on the outskirts of the city. We’ll drive into the city in the morning to drop off the hire car and meet Gill and Stephen – our house sit people. Can’t wait to see our house sit home and meet our house sit animals. Very exciting – a new adventure!!
Love Di and Reg xxxxxxxx
