- Antwerp, Belgium
- Brussels by day, Antwerp at night
- Beautiful Bruges!
- Amazing Amsterdam
- Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
- Rest of our journey to Oslo
Got up early this morning and met Caroline, Alexander and Florence for breakfast. Annick came with us – good to have a local guide! Then it was all in the car and off to Brussels. Another great market – I bought some gloves for our time in Norway. We then just wandered the streets. Lots of diversity. Alexander knows Brussels well – so he took us to a local restaurant for lunch. Great atmosphere – excellent food. Brussels is such an interesting city – but only a quick visit this time.
Then it was back to Antwerp and off to the movies. Went to a big complex with lots to choose from – which was a bonus. Alexander had forgotten that we are “language challenged”. They are so used to people speaking numerous languages it just never dawned on him. Belgium children just grow up bi-lingual. What an advantage! Florence already understands and responds to English, Belgium and French.
It was then out to an Italian restaurant for dinner. Lovely walk through the centre of Antwerp and an even more stunning restaurant! Alexander had booked the top floor just for us – great view of a huge cathedral through the glass roof. Caught up with Gunther – he visited the chateau – and Peter again – neighbour to Caroline and Alexander. Add the four Aussies – total of 8. What a great night. More great food, wine and top company!! Though I must admit by the end of the night everyone was a bit on the tired side! Everything became very chilled. Another busy day.
Cheers and love
Di and Reg
