- Antwerp, Belgium
- Brussels by day, Antwerp at night
- Beautiful Bruges!
- Amazing Amsterdam
- Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
- Rest of our journey to Oslo
Reg and I arrived safely in Copenhagen, then walked the short distance from the train station to our hotel. We are still lugging lots of luggage but not a lot we can do – we need all our heavy winter clothes for the coming cold weather in Norway and Scotland. Again it was off to walk the streets. Quite busy – more traffic compared to Amsterdam but still a water theme with the harbour and a lovely waterway – lots of cafes and restaurants, lovely buildings. Had an early night – the overnight train was great but glad to have a normal bed again! More exploring the next day. Highlight was visiting the Royal Palace and seeing the changing of the guard – I managed to get a photo with one of them by his little guard box. Amazing huge paved square surrounded by very elegant buildings – majestic statue of a horse and rider. We did knock on the palace door – hoping for a cuppa and a catch up – but Frederick and Mary weren’t home. Never mind! Just joking – I know Mary is a fellow Aussie but not sure if the connection would get us that far!
People still use lots of by bicycles in Copenhagen. Met a young mother out and about with her baby. It was interesting to hear a little of her life in Copenhagen. We also visited other landmarks such as the National Museum. Then it was back to the train station to catch the train to Sweden – catching up with an old wine making friend Walter. Just a little diversion before our next house sit in Oslo.
Bye again
Di and Reg
