- Time in London
- Gunnerside, Yorkshire Dales
- Revisiting some favourites!
- Road to Fort William
Well we have gotten out an about! We drove over the mountains to Hawes – nice little market selling local produce in the village square. Interesting chemist shop in the main street – they double as the wine and spirit merchant in the village. Maybe a conflict of interest! Just such a beautiful drive over the mountains – remember it well from out last visit.
Also revisited Kettlewell – right in the middle of the Dales. Had a lovely lunch and a walk around the village. Also took off to the Lake District – on the west coast, an hour or two away. Only breezed through last time. Spent the day looking around Lake Windermere and beyond. Visited Beatrix Potter’s cottage but unfortunately they were closed for the day. Never mind! A lovely day out.
The mornings in Yorkshire have been extremely icy and the evenings very cold – the coal fire in our little cottage has been working overtime – but we have really enjoyed our stay. Off to Tomich tomorrow – our “return visit house sit” – in the Scottish Highlands. A bit of a theme happening here!
love to all
Di and Reg
