We went for a drive the other day – coronavirus restrictions have been eased. Yeah! Packed a picnic lunch, filled the thermos, and drove to Inverloch – a seaside town about an hour from here. Lots of cars on the road and lots of people on the beach – all behaving themselves with “social distancing”. Beautiful sunny day, gentle breeze. Inverloch has a narrow protected harbour – great for water sports and swimming. Lovely outlook to the open sea and across the bay. After lunch and a walk we wound our way to Cape Patterson – checking out every turnoff and lookout possible. Rugged cliffs, sandy beaches. We then drove on to Wonthaggi, afternoon tea at Kilcunda, and home. Felt quite strange to be “so far” from Phillip Island! It’s been a while! As we drove we chatted about all the different places we’ve stopped for a picnic lunch or to just put the kettle on or open the thermos for a cuppa. So many different countries! So many different cars – our own, hire cars, house sit cars and our friends motor home in NZ. It’s one of our favourite things: finding a beautiful spot, lifting the hatch/boot, lining up our cups, unwrapping yummy food, and just being together. The simple things of life!
Inspiration hit! I looked through some old photos – always fun – and have included them in this blog. Fond memories. Common theme – lots of cuppas, picnic heaven. Enjoy!
Love Di and Reg
PS I’ve also included an video – “another cuppa tea” was a regular part of life at Mourne Park, Northern Ireland! Cheers Chris!

Lots of cuppas is good. ☕ We are travelling now- Nuri, Wilmington then Rawnsley Park and finally Holowiliena Station at the end of May. We have 3 thermoses to keep the cuppas going.😂
