We drove further up into the Pyrenees the other day. Visited our closest ski resort – La Mongie. Famous for “alpine skiing, snowboarding, snowpark, cross-country skiing, snowmobiles and hiking in snowshoes”. Not that we did any of those! Well here we are – back in France. All very familiar – great wine, cheese, amazing bread. Thank goodness we have Balto – sheep dog – to take for walks. We are staying in the Baronnies in the Hautes-Pyrenees. Lots of tiny villages linked by narrow winding roads, rolling hills and mountains, deep green valleys….
